Responsibilities:
Responsible for proactive measures, management and oversees all aspects of customer’s IBM AS/400 systems. To provide technical expertise on project implementation, management, monitoring, tuning, backup, migration, clustering, replicating, support, evaluate and recommend new system technologies with regards to AS/400 systems.
Examine the overall system architecture and to provide proactive remedies/solution.
Ensure that the backups, system configuration and failover procedures are documented & up to date. Implement systems security and encryption.
Capacity planning on AS/400 systems and to provide feasible recommendations, analyze, performance tuning, apply patches and upgrades for optimal efficiency.
Leads the enhancement projects on AS/400 systems.
Monitors the proactive maintenance activities on recommended regularity.
Implements and maintains operational documentation, procedures, and projects
Provide phone and on-site support 24 x 7 for critical situation, monitors proactive alerts.

Requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent.
Minimum 5 years working experience in managing/administration of AS/400.
Experience with IBM i-Series – AS/400 operations, network servers and data communications required
Certification in ITIL and knowledge of using AS/400 (CLP & MIMIX) is an added advantage.
I-Series OS upgrade experience,(5.4 to 7.1) desirable
I-Series – AS/400 – LPAR, HMC and PTF installations preferred
Strong leadership and analytical skills, high level of integrity and able to work independently.
